Rotary Disc Headers 

Case IH continues the tradition of giving you the most options to fit your operation. You can choose among three models.

Rugged, independent disc modules offer many advantages:

• Easy service, repair or replacement
• Individually sealed bearings, gears and lubricant – damage or contamination to one disc doesn't spread to another
• Complete gear lubrication, even when cutting on slopes or at an angle
• Crop lifters on all discs help move crop away from the cutting zone
• Austempered discs for extra hardness and durability in punishing conditions
• A protective liner in the hood helps reduce rock damage
• Heavy-duty gears and cross shafts

• Standard on all rotary disc header models
• Protects key disc module drive components when a disc encounters a field obstacle
• Easier in-field repairs
• Dramatically reduces downtime
• Lower replacement-part cost

Two heavy-duty knives on each disc feature:

• One-bolt knives that are reversible for twice the cutting life
• Easy replacement — you can replace knives without raising the header
• A knife speed of 187 mph (301 kph)
• A cutterbar angle that adjusts hydraulically from 2–10 degrees below horizontal using the in-cab switch

• RD132 — equipped with intermeshing, spiral, rubber-on-rubber or steel-on-steel conditioning rolls
• RD163 and RD193 — equipped with intermeshing, spiral, rubber-on-rubber, steel-on-steel or Hi-Contact conditioning rolls or flail
• Conditioning rolls provide 102-in. (2.6-m)-wide superior crimping action
  • Results in faster drydown in both light and heavy crops
• Rugged construction allows rolls to process both higher crop volume and faster ground speeds typical of a rotary disc header
• Chevron conditioning rolls evenly distribute the crop across the whole windrow, eliminating more material on the sides of the windrow
