THRESHING/SEPARATING
The patented transition cone with impeller system on the front of the Axial-Flow® AFX rotor smoothly accelerates the crop mat, promoting positive material flow with less impact damage – and superior threshing and separating performance.
The rotor transition cone on Case IH Axial-Flow® combines gently transitions the crop.
Rotor Transition Cone
  • Simple geometry gently transitions crop from feeder to rotor with no moving parts
  • Crop smoothly accelerates in a spiral motion
    • From feeder speed to threshing speed – 5 mph (8 kph) to about 60 mph (97 kph)
    • Without congestion, while promoting grain quality
    • Ensures maximum combine capacity and performance
    • While drawing crop into the combine transition cone, the rotor impeller system draws 1,100+ cu. ft. of air per minute ensuring a clear view of the header
The legendary Case IH Axial-Flow® rotor features concentric rotor cage.
Rotor Cage
  • Single in-line Axial-Flow rotor coupled with a concentric rotor cage
    • Delivers gentle, multiple pass, grain-on-grain threshing
    • The hallmark of an Axial-Flow machine for over 30 years
  • Exclusive adjustable rotor cage vanes
    • Allow you to customize crop flow to conditions for maximum performance and productivity
    • Vanes have three positions: fast, mid and slow
    • Crop control provides uniform crop flow and more consistent power needs while reducing peak horsepower and consuming less fuel

The AFX rotor concave increases capacity on Case IH Axial-Flow combines.
Rotor Concave/Module Wrap
  • One of the most important elements affecting combine capacity
  • Instead of longer rotors, Case IH Axial-Flow combines use concave/module wrap to increase capacity
    • 5088, 6088 and 7088 combines include a one-piece 156 degree concave wrap
    • 7120, 8120 and 9120 combines include a two-piece 180 degree module
  • Concave/module wrap provides a longer, more efficient threshing/separating zone for optimum threshing and separating capacity
  • Electrically operated concave/module adjustment is monitored by the in-cab position display
Case IH Axial-Flow combines are available with different rotor modules for a variety of crops and harvesting conditions.
20 Series Rotor Modules
  • A variety of different rotor modules let you adapt to a variety of crops and harvesting conditions
    • Small Wire – small grain
    • Large Wire – corn, soybeans and rice
    • Slotted – edible beans and sunflowers
    • Round bar – high-moisture corn and rice
    • Large skip wire – separating area
    • Solid module – easy threshing and separating
    • Small wire hard thresh kit – available on 7120, 8120 and 9120 models for tough threshing conditions
  • Rotor modules are composed of two sections (right and left) and are interchangeable from front to back
  • 40 lb (18 kg) modules are secured with two bolts and can be switched in minutes
Instead of longer rotors, Case IH combines use concave/module wrap to increase capacity.
