HYDRAULICS/HITCH/PTO
A powerful, high-capacity hydraulic system handles larger implements and tougher tasks with responsive implement and steering control, heavy-duty 3-point hitch made of forged steel, and powerful, smooth-engaging PTO.

Electronic Draft Control (EDC) option on Farmall® U cab models provides precise implement control, instant response and accurate hitch positioning for cultivating and tilling.
Case IH Farmall U Series tractors feature high-capacity hydraulics.
Hydraulics
  • High-capacity hydraulic system provides a total flow of 26.5 gpm (100.5 Lpm) with 16.1 gpm (61 Lpm) at the remotes – ample flow for demanding applications
  • Dependable 16.1 gpm (61 Lpm) hydraulic gear pump provides hydraulic power to the remotes and 3-point hitch
    • Separate steering pump provides 10.4 gpm (39.5 Lpm) to hydrostatic steering system
    • Combining valve on steering pump automatically sends excess flow to optional mid-mount loader valve with joystick, providing up to 21 gpm (79.5 Lpm) of hydraulic flow to further loader operations
  • Two closed-center rear remotes with detent and float positions are standard
    • A third remote is available
    • First value has flow controls
Case IH Farmall U Series tractors showcase rugged 3-point hitch.
Hitch
  • Farmall U Series tractors’ tough 3-point hitch is made of forged steel and features:
    • 5,745-lb (2,605-kg) lift capacity on models with mechanical draft control
    • 6,445-lb (2,923-kg) lift capacity on models with EDC option
    • Standard telescoping link ends and stabilizers, and turnbuckle leveling system allow for easy implement attachment
    • Convenient Fast Raise/Lower feature on mechanical draft hitch saves you time by providing push-button control of 3-point hitch, making turns easier by returning implement to its working depth
    • Mechanical lower-link draft sensing system provides position and draft control on Farmall U tractors not equipped with EDC
Case IH Farmall U Series tractor PTO systems are independent of the tractor.
PTO
  • PTO operation is independent of tractor ground speed
    • So you can stop the tractor without stopping the PTO and vice versa
  • PTO is mechanically engaged
    • Operates using a single lever conveniently located on your left to simplify operation
